Fresh data from SurveyMonkey has added further weight to the case for investment in L&D, linking development directly to engagement, retention, and workforce performance.

In a recent study of HR professionals, over half (55%) said training is the most crucial investment in employee experience, while 26% cite a lack of growth opportunities as the top driver for employee turnover.

This is nothing new, of course, but the combination of investment priority and attrition risk underlines L&D programs as a business-critical necessity rather than a discretionary spend.

The data also highlights a growing gap between employee expectations and the opportunities currently available inside organizations.
