'Building the future' | OpenAI's new HR chief to deliver blueprint for AI-enabled work

OpenAI has appointed Arvind KC as Chief People Officer, bringing in a leader with experience spanning engineering and HR at major technology firms.

KC has previously held senior positions at Roblox, Google, Palantir Technologies, and Meta, where he worked on building both products and the organizations behind them at scale. The AI pioneer said his background combines technical expertise with people leadership, giving him insight into how high-performing engineering teams function and how operational systems can enable productivity without creating friction.

His remit will cover hiring, onboarding, and development, along with the policies and systems designed to support collaboration and sustained performance as the company expands.

Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, said the appointment aligns with the company’s broader ambitions.
