Cinnabon immeditely fired a worker at a Wisconsin franchise outlet after a video circulated online showing her confronting customers with racist language and obscene gestures.
The Georgia-based chain said the individual was removed from the job by the franchise operator as soon as leadership became aware of the incident.
The footage appeared on TikTok and captured the white, female employee behind the counter cursing at two customers as one of them recorded the exchange. At one point she used a racial slur and declared, “I am racist and I’ll say it to the whole entire world. Don’t be disrespectful.” The clip also showed her giving the middle finger toward the customers and continuing to trade expletives during the encounter.
Cinnabon posted a statement confirming that the worker was “immediately terminated” after review of the video.
In a statement, the firm said: “We are aware of the deeply troubling video involving a former employee at the independently owned and operated Cinnabon bakery in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin. The individual seen in the video was immediately terminated by the franchise owner.”
Delivering Consistent HR Services for Deskless Workers
Can HR truly reach every employee — whether office-based, hybrid or deskless?
Deskless workers represent ~80% of the global workforce, yet most HR systems were designed for desk-based employees.
This ebook explores how to build a multichannel HR service delivery strategy — combining portals, mobile apps, email and conversational interfaces — to deliver consistent HR services, improve accessibility, and create a seamless employee experience across the entire workforce.
Based on research conducted by Neocase with clients and stakeholders in the industrial sector, it highlights practical insights on:
Why deskless environments reveal structural gaps in HR service delivery
Why multichannel HR requires governance, not just more channels
How mobile-first access can transform frontline HR interactions
What you will learn from this eBook:
How to reach employees without desk access
How to structure HR service delivery across sites
How to reduce HR workload from employee requests
Real examples from large organizations
Customer acount details tension at Wisconsin mall
The TikTok user who shared the footage said the confrontation occurred Friday at a mall in Ashwaubenon, just outside Green Bay. She said she and her husband had stopped during a shopping trip and ordered a caramel pecan cinnamon roll. According to her account, she requested extra caramel because the pastry appeared to have too little.
The recording began, she said, after the worker snapped at her and mocked her hijab. The video then captured the escalation between the two sides.
An online fundraising effort organized in support of the couple described them as a “black Somali Muslim couple” who had been “traumatized” by the experience.
A separate campaign appeared shortly afterward seeking donations on behalf of the dismissed worker. That effort quickly raised tens of thousands of dollars on a "Christian" crowdfunding platform previously used to generate significant sums for a Minnesota woman who admitted earlier this year to using a racist slur toward a Black child in a playground.
