Online gaming firm Games Global has begun a company-wide restructuring that includes job cuts across several regions and departments, including its global HR leader, who has urged hiring employers to reach out to her former colleagues on social media.
The casino content supplier, which employs more than 1,000 staff across the US, Europe and Africa, has not disclosed the total number of layoffs. The Isle of Man’s Department for Enterprise confirmed that roles have been eliminated at the firm’s Douglas headquarters in the UK.
In a statement, the company said the review was part of a plan to “enhance efficiency and align its structure toward future priorities and growth.”
Games Global explained that the decision to “streamline the size of its global workforce” followed both “evolving technology efficiencies” and the scale of its expansion over the past four years.
“While these decisions have been difficult, they are essential to ensuring long-term competitiveness and ability to invest in sustainable innovation,” the company said.

Leadership departures and employee reaction
Among those leaving is Charlotte Davies, Games Global’s Director of Global People, who confirmed her exit in a public post thanking colleagues and offering help to others impacted.
“This transition is made all the more difficult due to the privilege I have had to work alongside such amazing talent, many of who have become more than colleagues, they are true friends,” Davies wrote.
She added that “over the coming days you will see posts from brilliant people who have been impacted,” and invited hiring contacts to reach out with opportunities for her former team.
LinkedIn posts from employees suggest the layoffs affected multiple departments and levels of seniority, including staff who joined during the company’s early Microgaming years.
Some departing team members told NEXT.io they held no ill feelings toward the business and wished it “every success moving forward.”
Why HR still struggles to reach Deskless Employees

Restructure follows cancelled IPO plans
The workforce changes come after Games Global withdrew its planned New York Stock Exchange IPO in May 2024. The company had expected a valuation of around $2.13bn and to raise up to $113m, but pulled the deal hours before launch, citing market conditions.
CEO Walter Bugno described the restructuring as “a proactive step to ensure Games Global remains well positioned to meet the evolving needs of our customers, capitalise on emerging market opportunities, and maintain a strong focus on investment in innovation.”
