Restaurant chain TGI Friday’s is facing its first ever strike over tips in the UK after it proposed a redistribution of 40% of service charge payments made on cards to back-of-house employees, in lieu of a pay rise – The Guardian reports.
The proposal was made in February, prompting anger from waiting staff who are angry about the loss of tips.
