Top employers for staff offerings revealed

Last week's Top Employer awards recognised companies that provide excellent working conditions for their staff through both strategy and operations.

The ceremony, held at the historic London Guildhall and compered by stand-up comedian Marcus Brigstocke, celebrated all firms who had achieved Top Employer certification.

James Gooding, UK Country Manager for the Top Employers Institute, says: “Providing the right environmental and employee conditions enable people to develop themselves personally and professionally.”

To achieve Top Employer status, companies must pass an independently audited process and pass assessments in nine categories, including Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning and Culture.

The results are calibrated against more than 1100 employers, creating global benchmarks of excellence.

CGI UK, an information technology and business process services firm, were awarded on-the-night number one for outstanding employee offerings – gaining certification for the fourth year in a row.

Karen Townsend, Vice President Human Resources, comments on CGI’s top ranking: “We are very proud to achieve the number one ranking from the Top Employers Institute, which is testament to the outstanding company culture and working environment we have created. This award is presented in recognition of the collaborative and progressive working practices we strive to put in place for all of our members.”
