Formula One’s governing body has scrapped the role of Head of Sustainability, Diversity and Inclusion, and with it, parted ways with the woman leading that work.
Sara Mariani, who held the position for just 18 months, has left the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) following an internal restructure that effectively dismantled her role. Her responsibilities will now be divided between two different departments: sustainability moves to the secretary general for mobility, while diversity and inclusion will fall under the HR function.
