HSBC is considering a new global office attendance policy that would require all employees to work from the office at least three days a week, despite already facing a significant desk shortage at its future UK headquarters.
According to the Financial Times, discussions around the mandate are being led by group CEO Georges Elhedery and are currently ongoing. If confirmed, the move would extend the bank’s existing UK policy, already in place since 2023, to its wider 211,000-strong global workforce.
