Are formal dresscodes a thing of the past? Lloyd’s of London, one of London’s largest and oldest professional institutions, which was founded over 300 years ago, has always maintained a strict work clothing policy.
In fact, in the past professionals attempting to enter the premises without a full suit and tie have been turned away. Yet in 2019, Lloyd’s policies on work dress codes were relaxed, “in keeping with the norms of business dress in the City,” as a company Spokesperson told the Financial Times.
