The Founder of Papa John’s pizza chain has stepped down as Chairman after using the N-word in a conference call.
John Schnatter used the slur in a media training session in May, allegedly complaining that the KFC founder Colonel Sanders had used the word in the past without being subjected to public backlash – Forbes reports.
He also mentioned that during his childhood in Indiana, people used to drag African-Americans from trucks until they died. Schnatter said in a statement,
"News reports attributing the use of inappropriate and hurtful language to me during a media-training session regarding race are true."
